Note :
- Murukku can be bake in preheated oven at 180C for 15 minutes.
- To make powdered roasted gramdal , just grind them into fine powder. This powder can be stored for many weeks .

Rava & Rice Flour Chakli / Chakri
Easy, quick, crispy, crunchy, very delicious Sooji (Semolina & Rice Flour Chakli is a perfect tea time snack. Best snack recipe for up coming festival season.
Ingredients
1 cup=250ml
- 1 cup Rava / Semolina / Sooji
- 2 cups Rice Flour
- 2 cups water , to cook Rava
- 1/2 cup Powdered Roasted Gram Dal
- 2.5 tbsp Butter
- Salt, as per taste
- 1 tbsp Black Sesame Seeds
- 1 tbsp White Sesame Seeds
- 1 tbsp Cumin Seeds
- 1/2 tsp Asafoetida
- 1 tbsp Red Chilli Powder
Directions
Notes :
- First, we have to cook Sooji. In a pan boil 2 cups water.
- Add butter in it.
- Once water starts boiling, add Semolina/Sooji.
- Keep gas flame slow. Stir continuously. Make sure there is no lumps .
- Keep stirring and cooking till sooji absorb all water and form like a dough…
- Once sooji mixture starts leaving sides of pan , switch off the flame .
- Transfer the sooji mixture in a plate and allow it to cool a little.
- Later, add powdered gram dal, rice flour, cumin seeds, black sesame seeds, white sesame seeds, salt, asafoetida/hing and red chilli powder.
- Mix well. Add water little by little and form soft dough.
- Grease kitchen press / chakli mould with little oil.
- Fill the kitchen press with dough .
- Press kitchen press and make spiral shaped murukku .
- Heat oil in a pan. Slide one by one murukku in hot oil and fry on medium flame.
- Don’t try to flip immediately after adding in oil. Wait for few seconds or allow oil bubbles to settle a little .
- Flip the side and fry till crispy from both sides..
- Drain over a paper towel to remove access oil..
- Serve crispy, crunchy, delicious murukku with tea
- Store in an airtight container.

Sounds interesting and tasty. I have never tried this, I have made murukku with besan or urad dhal. I should definitely try this.
