If you want to have something delicious, with very less Oil , quick to make, and with simple ingredients, This chillas are the best options. Enjoy hot Rice Chilla with sweet Pickle. It taste the best.
I served this Chillas with Shredded Mango Sweet Pickle. Its a Gujrati Recipe . You can make this Chilla from Leftover Rice or even cook a little more for this (As I generally do ) . In this blog i shared couple of recipes for leftover .
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 cup cooked rice
- 3-4 tsp Chickpeas Flour (Besan)
- 2 tsp Curd
- 2 tsp Finely chopped Green Coriander
- 1 tsp Finely Chopped Green Chillies
- 1 tsp Red Chilli Powder
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
- 1/4 tsp Asafoetida (Hing)
- Salt as per taste
METHOD:
In a broad and big plate, mix all the ingredients nicely without adding any water. Heat a non stick Tava. Rub a drop of oil on that. take a big spoon of batter , place on tava. With wet fingures try to spread it. Make small in size. Pour 2-3 drop of oil. Once sides get crispy change the side. Allow it to cook nicely both the sides.
Serve hot with Pickle or Green Chutney.. Taste best with Hot cup of Tea/ Coffee.
Happy Cooking 🙂 🙂

I have loved chilla over the years and still don’t hesitate to feast on it whenever I get an opportunity. Loved the way, you’ve combined the Uttapam(A similar sound Indian dish made with rice and urad dal) and Chilla. It looks really delicious😊👍

Also if you get a chance, have look at my latest blog post about ‘swimming in rainforest’. I accidentally forgot to schedule it, so had to rush add the photos because I had released it everywhere.

My first thought was that you used potato – but rice is a terrific idea. I frequently make too much and this is a good way to use it. I’m slowly learning the Indian terminology – I wondered what “Hing” meant and I already have it in my pantry 🙂

Thank you so much dear. With rice it gives very soft texture. Hing means asafoetida.
