So lets see the recipe with details..
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 cup Chana Dal (Soaked and drained)
- 2-3 Green Chillies
- 2-3 Dry Red Chillies
- 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
- 1/4 cup Fresh Coriander, chopped
- 1/4 cup Fresh Mint Leaves , chopped
- 1/2 cup Fresh Coconut , Grated
- 1 tsp grated Ginger
- 1/2 cup sliced onions
- salt
- 1/2 tsp Hing
- Oil for frying
METHOD:
Soak Chana Dal / Split Bengal Gram for at least 5-6 hrs. If you are running short of time, soak dal in warm water for 1.5 hr or so. Before grinding drain the soaked dal nicely. There should not be any water in daal . keep this soaked daal in a strainer for 5-7 minutes and allow to drain water fully.
In mixer jar take dal, green chillies, red chillies, cumin seeds. Grind coarsely. While grinding DON’T ADD WATER. We need coarse paste. some whole chana dal pieces will taste amazing with other spices.. Still if you feel ,dal is so dry to grind , you can add 1 tsp water..
In mixing bowl take grinded dal. Now add Coriander, mint, coconut, ginger , onion, salt and hing. Mix nicely. Take a small portion on your palm and give shape of vada.
Fry this vadas in hot oil till golden and crispy.
Serve hot with Favourite chutney or tomato ketchup or Hot cup of Tea / Coffee.
Hope you all will love this Vada. Will wait to hear from you 🙂 🙂
Happy Cooking 🙂 🙂
