I am just crazy about cupcakes , and this is my very first try on icing.

Cupcakes are now very very popular in market. There are thousands of variety one can make. There are hundreds of varieties or combinations that one can try. Here i made is simple , yet like by everyone , chocolate cupcakes with Vanilla icing..

Cupcakes can be stored in freezer upto month but Best to have when fresh..



For Cupcakes

  • ½ cup Unsalted Butter
  • 2/3 cup caster Sugar
  • ½ cup cocoa powder(Unsweetened)
  • 1 ½ cup Maida (All Purpose Flour)
  • 2 tsp Fresh Curd
  • ½ cup Milk
  • 1 tsp Vanila Essence
  • ¼ tsp Baking Soda
  • 2/3 tsp Baking Powder

For Icing

  • 2/3 cup Whipped Cream
  • 2 cup caster Sugar
  • ½ tsp Chocolate Flavour essence
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla Flavour Essence
  • some sugar balls to decorate


In a bowl Sift Maida, cookig soda, baking powder. In another bowl beat butter and sugar till it becomes smooth and fluffy. Add cocoa powder, vanila essence,curd and beat well. Now slowly add Maida in it. Whisk nicely. Add milk to make batter smooth and lumpfree. Batter consistency should not be thick.

Bytime Preheat oven at 190C . cupcake mould try make ready with paper liners.Take spoonful batter and keep it in paper liners. Tap once or twice to make it even.
Keep this tray in oven and bake for 7 minutes. (Time can vary , but after 6-7 minutes keep on checking) Toothpick should come out clean from center of cupcake. Allow to cool cupcakes completely. 


Now the icing time…

Whisk the whipped butter and sugar till it get s the smooth shiny texture. For me it took 12 mins. Make two equal parts.add vanila essence in one part and chocolate flavour to another part . One can choose essence as per their likings. Now with piping bag (I used milk bags) , attach ur mould and fill both the cream in it and give shape.. Sprinkle some sugar balls on it.
