BEANS SALAD

Salads are very important part of our meal. Such healthy, quick and full of protein salads are best to skip lunch or for diet followers. Even best for kids or Adults tiffin box .

It is truly the easiest salad ever. And what’s even better is that it’s also the most versatile… Give wings to your imagination and every time you will get a new salad 🙂

Here i have used the beans which were available at home, one can make any combination.  Always try to use OLIVE OIL for salads and dressings to give a healthy touch to your food.  Skip Green Chillies if making for kids. Mint Leaves gives a particular taste . Ginger will add on taste as well as  Help you in good digestion. One can add Oregano and chilli flakes depends on personal liking..

For BEAN SALAD , important thing is Cooking of beans. I don’t prefer canned or ready made cooked beans so i always soak them over night and cook in morning . or soak them in warm water for 3-4 hrs , beans will be ready to cook 🙂

For this salad, make sure cooking is perfect as uncooked beans will lead to stomach pain and over cooked / mashed beans will not give crunchy taste. Beans should be cooked and same time should not be mashed.

You can make ready this salad in advance and just add Salt and Lemon only at time of Serving else it will leave water.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1/6 Cup Red Kidney Bean (Rajma)
  • 1/6 Cup Black Chickpeas ( Kala Chana)
  • 1/6 Cup White Chickpeas ( Kabuli Chana)
  • 1/6 Cup Cowgram ( Chola , Karamani)
  • Few Mint Leaves Chopped
  • 3 tsp Fresh Coriander Leaves Chopped
  • 1 tsp Chat Masala
  • 1/6 tsp Red Chilli Powder
  • Black Salt
  • Salt
  • Ginger Slivers
  • 2 tsp Olive Oil
  • 1-2 pc Green Chillies Chopped
  • Lemon Juice

METHOD:

Wash and Soak all the beans separately over night. I have cooked Rajma, and both chana together and Cowgram separately. The reason is Rajma and both Chickpeas will take almost same time to cook while Cowgram needs very less time . Rajma, white chickpeas and Black peas needs 2 whistles on slow flame while Cowgram needs only single whistle on slow flame.

Strain and Drain properly. Allow it to cool Completely. In a bowl mix all other ingredients except salt and Lemon Juice with cooked beans. Mix well.

Add Salt and Lemon juice only at time serving.. Enjoy
