JAIN POHA TIKKI / FLATTENED RICE CUTLET WITHOUT POTATO,ONION & GARLIC

This delicious cutlets are very easy and quick  . Here , I have shown Jain recipe – dont contain Potato , Onion and Garlic . The Mint flavor will definitely steal your heart.  This Cutlet needs very basic ,household ingredients . Just Mix everything , fry and ready .. Perfect for Bachelors, who don’t want to jump into complex cooking but still want to have a delicious starter / snack .

Generally Tikkis are always loved by everyone as one can have it alone or with some breads or make a filling to some exotic burger or something of your creativity. Don’t you feel boar of having potatoes and onions for each dish? Or you running out of shortage for ingredients ?
Here is the solution and end result is beyond expectations. One can use leftover cooked poha also for this tikkis, and measurement for ingredients may change a bit. The mint flavor , i am sure u gonna love it  🙂  🙂  I served with Tomato Sauce and Green Coriander Chutney

Here , I have shown cutlets without potato, onion. But if you wanna add , add boiled potatoes in this recipe .
I have shown shallow fried version. One can either roast on tava or even deep fry this tikkis .
Those who don’t use store bought breads , use homemade bread or even one can avoid also. .
So now lets see the quick recipe to make this delicious and shallow fried tikkis.
INGREDIENTS :
  • 1.5 cup Poha-Flattened Rice
  • 1 pc Raw Banana boiled
  • 1/2 cup chopped coriander
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh mint leaves
  • 1/2 cup Roasted Groundnut coarsely grind
  • 2 Bread Slices (Optional )
  • 1 tbsp boiled Corn Kernels
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 2 tsp Lemon Juice
  • 1 tsp Garam Masala
  • 1 tsp Red chilli Powder
  • Salt
  • 1 tbsp Cornflour
  • 1 tbsp Maida (All purpose flour )

METHOD :

Cut the sides of Bread and just crumble it . Sieve and clean poha . Wash poha under running water for a minute. Allow it to drain fully. Poha should be soft enough. Roast Peanuts on slow flame, take out covering and grind into mixer.

 

 

After ten minutes when poha dry fully, mix all the ingredients by your fingures. Sprinkle some water and make like a dough. Here dough means not a literally dough but when you give shape of tikki , poha mixture should allow you to give shape. And by adding water poha mixture won’t be so dry and gives good result.

Make a soft dough . Take out small portion and press between palms. Give shape of cutlet.

 

 

In a small bowl mix corn flour and Maida . Add water and make smooth and thin batter .

Now we will shallow fry tikkis .. Heat some oil in a pan . Deep each shaped cutlets in Maida+corn flour mixture and place in hot oil . Fry till little crispy. change the sides and keep frying till crispy. Take out on an oil absorbent paper .

 

For friends , who want to roast on tava  : Grease a griddle with 1 tsp oil when get proper hot place tikkis on it. Pour a tsp oil on tikkis. Allow it cook till becomes little crispy. Turn the side and cook again. You can pour a tsp oil if you feel necessary.

Serve hot with any preferable chutney or sauce. .. Hope you all like the recipe..
