Sabudana Vada or sago vada is a very famous Maharashtrian dish. Me sure all love these crunchy vadas which simply melt in the mouth… One will always crave for more 🙂 🙂 .Sabudana vada is great snack with ketchup or chutney. You can have this on fasting days or vrat days or on Navratri days and treat yourself.
Health watchers can also make this tasty vada in Paniyaram Pan or just Shallow Fry on tava. Well even i avoid fried foods but sometime and some dishes i love fried only 🙂 😉
This vada can be a great company with your hot cup of tea or Coffee. Actually this vada can be served at anytime of the day, as a starter or side dish or teatime .
INGREDIENTS:
- 1.5 cup Sabudana/ Sago
- 3 Medium sized Potatoes, boiled
- 5-6 Green chilli chopped
- 1.5 tsp Grated Ginger
- 1 tsp Sugar
- 2-3 tsp Lemon Juice (Approximately)
- 1 cup Fresh Coriander Chopped
- 1 cup Roasted Peanuts, crushed
- salt
METHOD
Wash Sabudana nicely. Soak with sufficient water. Soak for minimum 3 hrs. Actually soaking sabudana is an art. After soaking it should not be mashy. When you press it, it should be soft. Before soaking , wash nicely. Such way starch will washed away and sago wont be sticky..
Mash boiled potatoes. Add green chilli, coriander, salt, sugar, lemon, ginger and peanuts. mix well.
Make small balls, lightly press from center.
Fry in hot oil on a medium flame till golden brown in colour and becomes crispy..
Serve hot with tomato sauce or chutney..
