RASIYA MUTHIYA / RICE DUMPLINGS IN GRAVY

This dumplings are very famous in Gujarat, which is made from Leftover Rice. Its very tasty and filling dish. Tangy taste of Sour Buttermilk and wholesome of rice gives an awesome taste..

For Muthiya (Dumplings):

  • 1 cup Cooked Rice
  • ½ cup Besan
  • ½ cup Wheat flour
  • 2 tsp Rawa
  • 1 tsp Chilli ginger paste
  • 1 tsp Red chilli powder
  • ½ tsp turmeric
  • Salt as per taste

For Gravy

  • 5 cup Buttermilk (bit Sour)
  • ½ tsp besan
  • Salt as per taste
  • 1/2 tsp Musturd seeds
  • ½ tsp Cumin Seeds
  • ½ tsp Hing
  • ! tsp Red chilli Powder
  • ½ tsp Turmeric Powder
  • Chilli Ginger paste
  • Handsful Curryleaves
  • Finely chopped Corriender for garnishing

METHOD:

In bowl mix all the ingredients for muthiya and knead a semi soft dough. DON’T KNEAD MORE.

Make small oval shapes muthiya (dumplings). At other side mix buttermilk bit of salt and besan. Blend properly. In a kadai Take 4 tsp oil . When hot add musturd , cumin seeds. When both crackle add curry leaves, chilli powder, hind and immediately add blended buttermilk. Stir continuously till it starts boiling,Add Chilli ginger paste.

Now start adding muthiya to the gravy. Stir occassionally..

Allow it boil for 5-10 mins or till all muthiya float on top. Garnish with Corriender..
A tangy dish is ready..
