This Dal is combination of 5 different lentils and spices. It taste best with Steam Rice or Rajsthani Khoba Roti or Bati or even with normal roti. It tastes so delicious and full of flavours .

So now let’s check out the detailed recipe with step by step pictures for Panch ratna Dal ..
Mix all lentils, wash nicely. soak with enough water for at lease half an hour.
Add some turmeric powder and Cook with sufficient water in cooker for 2 whistles on slow flame. Let the cooker cool completely.
In a kadai take 4-5 tsp Ghee. Once hot add Cumin Seeds, green chillies and curry leaves. Now wait till it crackles fully.
Now Add Dry Red chilli, hing, tomatoes, curry leaves. Cook for a minute or so.
Add Some Red chili powder and then add cooked dal.
Add black salt , salt , turmerind Pulp and a glass of water. Boil Dal for 5-6 minutes.
Make sure, we don’t need a very thick daal. So adjust the water measurement accordingly.
At time of serving temper again. For this temper take 2-3 tsp Ghee . Add 2/3 tsp Cumin Seeds, hing and 1/2 tsp Red chilli powder.
You can also add Chopped Coriander. Serve hot…

Ingredients
- 2/3 Cup Moong Dal (Split Green Gram)
- 1/2 Cup Toor Dal (Pigeon Pea)
- 1/4 cup Chana Dal (Split Chikpeas)
- 3 tsp Masoor Dal ( Red Lentil )
- 3 tsp Urad Dal (split black gram)
- 2 tsp Turmerind Pulp
- 3-4 Red Dry Chilli
- 1-2 tsp Red Chilli Powder
- 1/2 cup Chopped Tomatoes
- 6 tsp Ghee / clarified butter
- Handsful Curry Leaves
- 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
- Salt
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
- 1 tsp Hing
- 2/3 tsp Black Salt
Directions

Notes :
- Addition of Garlic in temper , tastes very nice.
- Ginger and tomatoes can be avoided, if making for Tithi days ..
