KHANDVI is a delicious Gujarati Snack. Easily ready with just 2-3 Ingredients. And of course need just 1 tsp oil 🙂 🙂
I have already Posted KHANDVI- IN MICROWAVE earlier on blog. This is i made on Gas Stove. This way its actually bit time consuming, but take my words when this soft, melt in mouth , yummy yummy KHANDVI will be ready you will forget the time you spend.
For Khandvi always Proportion will be 1:3 for Besan and Buttermilk. The consistency of buttermilk should be normal, not too thick or thin
- 1 cup Besan
- 3 cup Buttermilk
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
- 1/4 tsp Hing
- 1 tsp Oil
- 1/2 tsp Mustard Seeds
- 2/3 tsp Sesame Seeds
- 1/4 tsp Hing
- 1/4 tsp Red chilli powder
In a non stick pan mix besan, buttermilk, salt,turmeric powder and hing. beat it well.
Cook on slow flame while stirring occasionally for initial 1-2 mins. Once you feel the mixture started turning thick, stir continuously . It takes no time to burn so be very careful. AB CHAHE DOORBELL BAJE YA WHATSAPP , YOU CANT MOVE 🙂 🙂 🙂
The important thing is when its done!! Well on general idea i can say for this measurement it will take around 20 mins.still its not reliable way . Always do plate test. Spread a tsp better on greased plate. after a min if you can roll then its done else still you need to cook.
Once Done Spread on greased Platform. one can use plates also to spread, but i personally feel on platform its very easy to spread. As at this stage one has to be very quick , better once cooled cant spread nicely. Though you can spread a thick layer and after temper you can enjoy as taste will be awesome only 🙂 🙂
Spread on Platform and with help of knife cut it lengthwise. Roll it. Keep on plate.
In a kadai Take Oil when done add Mustard seeds, sesame Seeds , hing and red chilli powder. Spread this temper on Khandvi.
NOTE: I made this for PARYUSHAN SPECIAL no didn’t use Coriander. One can use Grated Coconut and coconut as per taste to Garnish KHANDVI
