Masala Milk Powder is an Indian masala powder which is combination of Dry fruits and spices like cardamom and saffron. Sharing here a healthy Masala Milk Powder which can be consumed by any age group as it’s full of Proteins and Vitamins . You make in bulk and can store in refrigerator for couple of months..

To Make Masala Milk / Masala Doodh from this mix , Just add 1 or 2 tsp in a glass of milk, boil a little and a healthy , tasty milk drink is ready. Serve either Hot or chilled, it taste great.

Some Variations to make this Masala Milk Powder

  • With dry fruits , one can also add pumpkin seeds or dried rose petals .
  • One can also add some black pepper , some Fennel Seeds which can enhance the flavour.
  • One can skip milk powder . I have added as , it helps milk to give that thick and creamy texture .
  • Quantity of any nut can be increased or decreased as per choice.
  • Saffron is little expensive . So one can reduce the quantity of it and increase the quantity of Turmeric powder.

Masala Milk made from this healthy Masala Milk Powder is very helpful in sound sleep. But if you drink this daily , it might be reason for weight gain . Weekly twice or thrice this Masala Milk / Masala Doodh can be taken .

Masala Milk Powder

  • Servings: 300gm approximately

Ingredients

For Masala Milk Powder

  • 1/2 cup Almonds
  • 1/2 cup Pistachio
  • 1/2 cup Cashew Nuts
  • 3 tbsp Sugar
  • few Saffron Strands
  • 1/2 tsp of Turmeric (optional)
  • 10 to 15 Cardamoms
  • 1 medium sized Nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup Milk Powder
  • Almonds and Pistachio Slivers for garnishing

For Masala Milk

  • 500ml Milk
  • 4 tbsp (or more ) Masala Milk Powder
  • Sugar (as per taste)

Directions

    1. Grind Cardamom , Nutmeg and Sugar together. Here , as we have added sugar together , it will be very easy to grind into fine powder. Peel cardamom. Use only seeds of it. 2. Dry roast Almonds, Cashew nuts and Pistachio in a heavy bottom pan. Roast on slow flame for 3 to 4 minutes, Make sure dry fruit’s colour should not be changed. Keep stirring. 3. Once done , switch off the flame and allow it cool for a while.

    4.In a mixer bowl, take roasted dry fruits and some of saffron strands. Spare some saffron strands for later use.

    5.Use pulse method to grind. Grind into little coarse powder.

  1. Now mix dry fruit mixture , crushed sugar-cardamom-nutmeg mixture , Milk Powder , Saffron strands and Almond-Pistachio Slivers.
  2. Mix very well. Store in an air tight container . One can store this Masala Milk Powder for 2 to 3 months in refrigerator . Store in freezer for long shelf life.
  3. To make Masala Milk – Boil 500ml milk in a thick bottomed vessel . Once milk starts boiling , add 4 to 5 tbsp Masala Milk powder.
  4. Boil milk for 3 to 4 minutes on medium flame. Keep stirring to prevent milk sticking on bottom..
  5. Add sugar as per taste. Be careful while adding sugar as we have already added in powder. Boil for more 1 minute. Switch off the flame.
  6. Serve Hot or Cold.
  7. Note : Store this Masala Milk Powder in freezer for longer shelf life.

How to make Masala Milk Powder with step by step pictures…

  • Firstly we will grind Cardamom , Nutmeg and Sugar together. Here , as we have added sugar together , it will be very easy to grind into fine powder. Peel cardamom. Use only seeds of it. In a mixer bowl take cardamom seeds , Nutmeg and sugar. Grind into fine powder.

  • In a heavy bottom Kadai, dry roast Almonds, Cashew nuts and Pistachio. Roast on slow flame for 3 to 4 minutes, Make sure dry fruit’s colour should not be changed. Keep stirring. Once done, switch off the flame. Allow it to cool little ..

  • In a mixer bowl, take roasted dry fruits and some of saffron strands. Spare some saffron strands for later use.. For grinding, dont grind at a stretch. Use pulse method to grind. Grind into little coarse powder.

  • Take out crushed dry fruits mixture. Now mix crushed sugar +cardamom+nutmeg mixture , Milk Powder , Saffron strands and Almond and Pistachio Slivers. Mix very well . Store in an air tight container ..

  • Use when ever and how much is required. One can store this Masala Milk Powder for 2 to 3 months in refrigerator .

To make Masala Milk / Masala Doodh

  • Boil 500ml milk in a thick bottomed vessel . Once milk starts boiling , add 5 to 6 tbsp Masala Milk powder and boil for 3 to 4 minutes on medium flame. Keep stirring occasionally to prevent milk sticking on bottom..
  • Later , add sugar as per taste. Be careful while adding sugar as we have already added in powder. Boil for more 1 minute. Switch off the flame.

One can serve this healthy, flavourful and tasty Masala Doodh hot or cold, depends on season and mood 😀😀😀..

  2. Its definitely time to make some of this healthy, delicious and comforting masala milk powder as the weather is getting colder in Bangalore. I remember making this often when my kids were younger. Would add it to the milk they would have at 4 p.m. Like your idea of adding a bit go milk powder to make it creamier.
