A tasty and exotic Potato Stuffing packed between slices of bread with a spicy and tongue tickling chutney, the Masala Sandwich is surely one sumptuous snack that will keep you going for couple of hours.
Masala Toast is very famous street food from Mumbai. It’s generally prepared with unique toaster . Here , I have made the same toast in griller with my style 😃😃😃 ..
As I have promised in my last post , here I am with a kid special and easy recipe. Kids will surely love it.
Pin it for later
INGREDIENTS :
For Stuffing
- 4 to 5 small sized Potatoes
- 2 tsp Oil
- 1/2 tsp Mustard Seeds
- Asafoetida/ Hing
- 1 medium sized Onion
- 2 small green chillies , chopped/crushed
- Salt
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
- 1/2 cup finely chopped Fresh Coriander
- 1 tsp Lemon Juice
For Sandwich
- Bread slices
- Butter
- Fresh Coriander chutney
- Some tomato slices
- Some capsicum slices
- Chat Masala
METHOD ::
First boil potatoes . Boil on slow flame for 3 to 4 whistles. One can use left over boiled potatoes too. With the help of potato masher , mash it nicely. In a pan heat oil. When hot enough, add mustard seeds. Then add asafoetida , then chopped onions and chillies. If serving to young kids, add paste of chillies . As per taste , one can increase or decrease the quantity of chillies . Sprinkle some salt and turmeric powder.
Saute till raw fragrance vanish. Later add mashed potatoes and chopped coriander . Then add lemon juice .. Cook for more a minute. Keep stirring .. one can prepare this stuffing in advance .
Now assemble time, take bread slices. One can use any bread .. Normal Maida Bread , Wheat Bread , Multi grain etc.. Apply butter of half of breads and Coriander chutney on other breads. Spread potato stuffing on bread with help of back side of spoon. Then place tomato slices and capsicum slices. Sprinkle some chaat masala.
Arrange as sandwich and keep in preheated griller. .. Grill till crispy. Serve hot with some tomato sauce or chutney. It can be best partner with cup of your tea.
Me sure you and your kid will love it.
Will be waiting for your words, Soon i will be back with more one exotic kid special dish.
Happy Cooking 🙂 🙂
