Rose Falooda is one of the favorites in my family. Falooda, is a cold dessert popular in the Indian sub continent. Generally , it is made from mixing rose syrup , vermicelli , Basil Seeds and pieces of Jelly with Milk , often topped off with a scoop of ice cream .
Making Falooda at home is very easy when you have gathered all the ingredients . You can make the jelly and syrup the previous day , then it’s very easy to assemble and serve…
There are numerous ways of making this FALOODA. Here, I have shown the most easy and handy way to make it. And I must say Rose Falooda is one of the easiest Falooda recipe.
Here I have used store bought jelly packet. I made as mentioned on the packet, just took 100ml less water than mentioned on the packet. . I have always observed that this way Jelly turns superb . For Homemade Rose syrup recipe , one can check here..
I have used vermicelli which generally I use to make Payasam. One can use special FALOODA Sev ,which can easily replace long vermicelli.
SERVES : 4
INGREDIENTS :
- 1 cup wheat sev / Vermicelli
- O.75 lt Milk
- Rose syrup as per taste
- 2 tbsp Sabja seeds / Basil Seeds / Takmaria
- 2 tsp sugar (to add with Sabja seeds)
- 2 tbsp sugar (to add in Milk)
- 1/2 cup Strawberry flavor Jelly pieces
- 4 scoop Vanilla Ice Cream
- Few canned Cherry for Garnishing
METHOD :
First , we will cook our vermicelli.. for that take vermicelli in a vessel half filled with water. Once start boiling add vermicelli and cook till it’s fully cooked. Drain and discard the extra water. Immediately transfer cooked vermicelli in cold water.
one side take milk in a vessel and allow it to boil for 10 to 13 mins on medium flame. Stir occasionally. Once milk is boiled, add cooked vermicelli and 2 tbsp sugar. Stir nicely and cook for more 5 mins. Once done switch off the gas and allow it to cool completely. Then store in refrigerator till it’s chilled.
In a bowl , take Sabja seeds and 2 tsp sugar. Add 1.5 cup water and soak Sabja seeds for 30 mins. Then just mix with spoon and refrigerate till serve. You might be surprise , why Ruchi adding sugar with Sabja seeds ?? Well it’s scientifically proven that while soaking Sabja seeds , add some sugar. It is very good for health and metabolism.
So Now lets assemble,
Always keep the serving glass in refrigerator at least for 30 mins. Add Rose syrup in milk + vermicelli . Add according to taste.
First in chilled glass add chopped Jelly.. Then pour Rose vermicelli milk . Then sabja seeds . on top add a scoop of Vanilla ice cream . For decoration add chopped jelly and Cherry .
Serve immediately.. Enjoy this chilled dessert .
Hope to get words from you all.
Happy Cooking 🙂 🙂
Mmm…Yummilicious !

Just the thing for this weather! Give me a tall chilled glass of falooda any day instead of a gourmet ice cream. I’ve never added jelly pieces to mine but I think it would make the concoction more delicious and tempting for kids. 😊👌
