This is a delicious , tangy indian recipe which is served a side dish. It taste awesome with hot Steamed Rice or Roti. Sour curd/Buttermilk cooked with Gram flour and spices. So easy , so tasty .
Its very different then Gujarati Kadhi, which is Sweet in taste. Its tangy and spicy. I personally love this with Roti or Wheat Muthiya . You can also serve this Kadhi with Pakoras.
No much pre preparation is needed for this dish. Just one need is Sour curd /buttermilk and Besan along with few routine spices and a delicious Kadhi is ready.
INGREDIENTS:
- 2 cup Sour Curd
- 3 tsp Besan / Gram flour
- Salt
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
- 1 tsp Red chilli Powder
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/2 tsp Mustard Seeds
- 1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds
- 1/4 tsp Fenugreek Seeds
- Curry Leaves
- 1-2 Red Dry Chillies
METHOD :
For Kadhi, Mix curd, besan , salt and some water. Blend nicely. Add Around 2 glass of water. Add turmeric powder. Bring it to boil.
For temper, take Ghee in kadai. When hot add Mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds, Dry chillies and cumin seeds. When all done add Curry leaves and Hing.
Lastly add Red chilli powder. Add this temper to Kadhi… Boil for 8-10 mins.
Serve hot with Steamed Rice or Roti or Muthiya..
Hope you all will enjoy this delicious Kadhi..
Happy Cooking 🙂 🙂

Is this the same kadhi that I see many serve with pakoras in it or is that usually the Punjabi style (or another thing entirely)?
Regardless, this looks absolutely delicious and relatively simple as well. I’m particularly curious about trying it with soy or almond yogurt. I’m a little lactose intolerant and too much dairy can even give me a terrible headache so while I might be able to have a taste of it if I made the recipe as-is for my family, I could have a whole lot more if there were less dairy.
Thank you for sharing it!

Hey thank you so much dear for your words. Yes it is the same Kadhi which can be serve in many ways. But generally for pakoras punjabi kadhi is used. Its not much different than this version .
Ya do try with almond or soy yogurt. Its very delicious in taste.
