Dhokla is very famous dish of Gujarat. In old days Dhokla was prepared with Either Gram dal Flour (Besan) or Rava .. But now a days as time changed , varieties of Dhokla has been introduced.
I made these dhoklas using Oats and Fresh coriander..
This is very soft , healthy, low calorie, and very filling. You can try variation too. One can add Chopped Spinach , grated carrot etc.
Why Oats are healthy.. lets see some basic facts and benefits of OATS

- The possible health benefits of oats include: Lowering Risk of Heart Dieseses, reducing the risk of coronary artery disease, lowering levels of cholesterol, and reducing one’s risk of colorectal cancer.
So lets see the procedure:
- 1 cup Quaker Oats
- 1/2 cup Rava
- 1/4 cup Fresh Curd
- 4 tsp Chopped Fresh Coriander
- 1 tsp Chilli Ginger Paste
- 1 tsp Fruit Salt
- 1 tsp Oil
- 1 tsp Mustard Seeds
- 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
- 1 tsp Sesame Seeds
- Few Curry Leaves
- 2 Slit Green Chillies
- 1/2 tsp Hing
In a Pan dry roast Oats till it get crispy. Allow it to cool bit. Grind it to make Powder.
In a bowl add Powdered Oats, Rava, Curd, Chilli Ginger Paste . Add some water too to make batter. Mix well and keep aside for 15 mins.
In time make your steamer and a greased plate ( in which we will steam Dhokla ) Ready.
Add chopped coriander , fruit salt and 2 tsp water to batter. Mix very well. Immediately pour on HOT greased plate. Cover the lid and cook for 10-12 mins or till Dhoklas are ready. Allow it to cool for 5 mins . Cut into Diamond or square shape.
To temper, in a small kadai take oil. When hot add Mustard seeds, cumin seeds, sesame seeds, curry leaves, green chillis and hing. Spread nicely on dhoklas.
