RAW BANANA KOFTA CURRY

20150804_204858_wm

This Non Fried Raw Banana Kofta in a Mild Spicy, Creamy Tomato based Gravy , is  classic dish among North Indian Dishes. Its a Pure Jain Dish (No Onion No Garlic) . I served with Tava Naan.

Raw Banana is often affair in any Jain Home 🙂 🙂 It also has nutritional values like good source of Dietary Fiber, Vitamin C, Potassium and Manganese, and specially Vitamin B6 and Iron. But we hardly know any delicious dish made of Raw banana. This is a pure vegetarian dish mainly for those veggies who doesn’t eat Onion and garlic also.

I have added some boiled Green Peas too in kofta for that extra crunch and taste. One can also add Chopped Onions , but believe me this is perfect in this way 🙂 🙂

Gathiya crumbles , a leftover or i can say a common leftover at any Gujju Home 😉 i used in kofta just to bind nicely. One can use roasted besan in a small quantity. Or one can use thin SEV also.. it all work same for the recipe..

This measurement made around 20 small sized Kofta. Among which i used half for this curry and half were vanished with  bread slices and Green Coriander Chutney, An awesome snack it can be 🙂 🙂 On a healthy side , I made this kofta in Appe Pan. But if you are running short of time, one can fry also.

The Gravy i made is a non spicy or mild spicy version of the gravy which i mentioned in PANEER BUTTER MASALA  . One can adjust the spices according to taste.

I served with hot homemade tava Naan , i have already posted recipe for that earlier in blog. One can check for reference. One can also check Garlic Wheat Naan

  • Ghee to fry Paneer (Optional)

To make Paste

  • 2 Cloves
  • 2 Green Cardamom
  • 1 and 1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 3 tsp Melon Seeds
  • 1/4 cup Cashew Nuts
  • few drops oil

METHOD:

Mix all the ingredients nicely and make very small balls out of that. On other side grease the Appe Pan and keep on slow flame. Once its heat properly, place the small balls . Pour few drops of oil on each ball. Keep changing sides of these balls for even cooking.

Allow it to cook till it gets fine crispy outer layer. Keep all the koftas aside. Add Kofta to the curry only at time of serving else the kofta will be very soggy.

For the detailed recipe and stepwise pics of Gravy , kindly check Paneer Butter Masala.. as i used the same recipe, only change thing is spiciness. Here i made less spicy. But if you are a spicy food lover , you can make it that way too.

At time of serving Just Add kofta to the gravy .. Serve immediately.

I wish you all enjoy this curry as much as i did.

Happy Cooking 🙂 🙂
