Rice Flour Chakli is very famous in south india, though it has spread its magic north side also. A best savory for munching. Very crispy and very easy to make. One can store upto month in a air tight container.

• 500 grams Rice Flour
• 2 tbsp Urad Dal Flour
• 2/3 cup Boiled Moong Dal (Dont use much water to boil ) (OPTIONAL)
• 2/3 cup Butter (I used Amul)
• 1 tsp Cumin Powder
• 1 tsp Red chilli Powder
• ¼ tsp Hing
• Salt to taste
• Oil for deep frying


Sift the Rice Flour and Urad dal Flour nicely.

Now add Moong dal, butter, salt, hing, red chilli powder, cumin powder. Mix well. With water knead a dough.

Dough should not very stiff or very soft.

Grease chakli mould . Take one portion of dough and give shape for chakli. Be careful at this stage. as to give shape in rice flour is not easy. If u will add more of water or butter shape wont come.

Deep frying on medium flame.. Frying til golden brown colour. Don’t fry on high flame else will be raw from inside  and even nor on low flame ..
When cool completely store in a air tight container..
