Mango Thokku / mango chutney tastes very tangy, spicy and yummy.. This spicy mango chutney is used to eat with hot steamed rice and very popular in south india. You can store this chutney upto 10-12 days in refrigerator.

There are so many variations in recipe state wise. As in Andhra Pradesh, this chutney is prepared with Red chilli Powder. They dont use ginger in this. That is also extremely spicy and tasty…


Ingredients :

  • 2 Big sized Raw Mango , Grated
  • 8 -10 Green Chilli (should be Spicy)
  • 2 tsp Grated Ginger
  • 2-3 Red dry Chilli
  • Handsful Curry Leaves
  • 3 tbsp Oil
  • 1 tsp Urad dal
  • 1/2 tsp Mustard Seed
  • Salt as per taste
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder

Method :

In a kadai take oil. When hot add mustard seeds , Red dry chilli and urad dal. When dal turns light brown add chopped chilli, curry leaves ,ginger ,hing and then add Mango..  Add Salt and turmeric Powder. Saute for 2 to 3 mins. Thokku is ready..

Store in freeze. At time of using just add 1 tsp Thokku with 1 cup of Hot Rice , mix and enjoy delicious Mango Rice .. In refrigerator one can store up to a week or so and enjoy whenever required..
