Leftover rice is general problem in each house.. This Muthiya Made from leftover Rice and Grated Bottle guard. Though its made from leftover its very healthy, as only steamed, less oil is used .

Ingredients:
For Muthiya:

  • 2/3 cup Grated Bottle Guard
  • 1 cup Cooked Rice
  • 1 cup Wheat Flour
  • 1 cup Besan
  • 1/2 cup Dhokla Flour
  • salt as per taste
  • 2 tsp Red Chili Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander Cumin Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Hing
  • 3 tsp Sugar
  • 2 tsp Lemon Juice
  • 1/4 tsp Cooking Soda

For Tempering:

  • 3 tsp Oil
  • 1 tsp White Sesame
  • Handsful Curry Leaves
  • 1 tsp Musturd Seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Hing

Method :

Mix all Above Ingredietns for Muthiya. While mixing Pour lemon juice on cooking soda and then proceed.

Firm a dough. One dont need a single drop of water as Bottle gourd will leave some water and will be helpful in kneading. Give shape of long thin Cylinder and steam this for 15-20 mins in a steamer.

Allow it to cool completely.Cut into small squares. In a kadai take oil. When hot add musturd seeds, white sesame and curry leaves.When crackle add hing and then add all muthiya and mix well. Cook on slow flame for 4-5 mins. A healthy Muthiya is ready..
